National Business Book Award 2025 Winner-Rogers v. Rogers: The Battle for Control of Canada’s Telecom Empire

The National Business Book Award has named 'Rogers v. Rogers: The Battle For Control Of Canada's Telecom Empire' by business reporter Alexandra Posadzki as its 2025 winner, recognizing her gripping inside account of Rogers family's public succession struggle. The $30,000 prize was presented at an award dinner in Toronto, hosted by Financial Executives International (FEI) Canada, Toronto Chapter. 

Published by McClelland and Stewart, the book is a behind-the-scenes look at the internal fight for control of Canada's most powerful telecommunications empire following its founder’s death. Posadzki chronicles how Ted Rogers' larger-than-life personality and entrepreneurial style shaped one of Canada's telecommunications giants—and how his death triggered a family dispute over competing visions for the company's future. More than a corporate drama, it’s a cautionary tale about the vulnerabilities of family-controlled enterprises and the struggles many organizations face after losing a legendary leader.
